My proposal is to continue in 2025 and 2026 with a research topic that combines the concept of democracy with electoral processes, now choosing three cases from Latinamerican nations: first, Ecuador, where the citizen revolution project proposed by former President Rafael Correa was cut short at the beginning of Lenin Moreno’s term, when this president proposed a neoliberal model continued by Guillermo Lasso and the today president Daniel Noboa; second, with a different tendency, Gabriel Boric was able to become president in Chile, breaking the two- party system existing between the Christian Democrats and the Chilean Socialist Party to propose a new model and a Constitution, different from the one created by Pinochet. Third, there is the case of El Salvador with the new government of Nayib Bukele since 2019 (re-elected in 2024), which also broke the existing two-party system between the right-wing current of the Nationalist Republican Alliance (ARENA) and the ex-guerrilla movement of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN), to form a new project that was ratified in 2024 with the re-election of the president Bukele. In these three cases, different results are combined in their national projects as a product of democracy and electoral processes.
